Steam Now Accepting Click&Buy Payment Solution
New York / London / Zug (CH), November 6, 2007 - ClickandBuy today announced an agreement with Valve to offer the ClickandBuy e-payment method for purchases via Steam (
www.steamgames.com), that pioneering broadband platform for games and digital content. Like PayPal on steroids, ClickandBuy supports a wide range of payment methods, including direct debit of your bank card, online bank transfers, telephone billing, credit cards-makes, and, if you're in Germany, Elektronisches Lastschrift Verfahren (ELV).
Thus equipped, Steam customers can purchase and download a broad selection of game titles from dozens of leading publishers and independent developers -- including brand new blockbuster like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Soldier of Fortune: Payback (coming soon), The Orange Box (/w Half-Life 2 et al), and Clive Barker's Jerico without (or with) a credit card.
The new billing solution is available to Steam customers across North America and the majority of European countries. Currently, Steam features over 150 games in a broad selection of genres, dozens of other PC applications, plus game movies and demos. The service currently boasts some 13 million users, a number that's sure to grow now with simple, credit cardless payment options.
"To be chosen by this leading digital distribution provider for PC games makes us proud," said Guenter Meessen, Gaming Specialist, ClickandBuy. "The decision of an international (US-based) market leader underlines our strength, to capture the European market by more than 40 integrated payment methods. We are very satisfied to serve Steam's global audience with the ClickandBuy solution."
"We're better serving our customers' needs by adding ClickandBuy as a payment option for purchases on Steam," says Jason Holtman, director of business development at Valve. "ClickandBuy provides a secure, convenient payment method for millions of Steam customers around the world."
