MLB 08 The Show
PlayStation 3
Making great leaps forward from last year's Sony-made baseball game -- which had great potential but came off the bat as an double rather then a homerun --, MLB 08 for the PlayStation3 still doesn't not knock it out of the park, but it's a solid stand-up triple.
7th annual NAViGaTR awards announced, Bioshock rules
Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Windows PC, Xbox 360
The National Academy of Video Game Testers and Reviewers Corp. (NAViGaTR) just announced the winners for 7th annual NAViGaTR awards. Bioshock won the most awards in the academy's history while Shigeru Miyamoto usurped Dan Houser for most awards to date.
XtremeHD 4-port HDMI Switcher
AV, Blu-ray, HD DVD, High-Def, PlayStation 3, Television, Xbox 360
Oddly, most HDTV manufactures often include only one or two HDMI input ports for that overly-hyped 1080p experience, like a flat screen TV and an Xbox 360 is all you'd ever need. For those with more than one, maybe 3 or 4 HDMI devices, there's this, a 4-port HDMI Switcher.
Lost: Via Domus
PlayStation 3, Windows PC, Xbox 360
If you were trapped on a deserted island, you would definitely want to have a copy of Lost: Via Domus with you. You'd need it to keep the fire going.
COD4s new multiplayer levels, a quick sneak peek
PlayStation 3, Windows PC, Xbox 360
It's not like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was lacking in places to go and people to shoot, but a new bundle of maps is coming to multiplayer nonetheless -- exclusively to Xbox 360 for a few weeks, too. Shawn Deena checks them out.
Army of Two
PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
As the title suggests, Army of Two features a dynamic duo of contract killers doing their thing, one-man-army style, except with two (duh). Play by yourself and buddy is an idiot. Played with a real live buddy and maybe not so much with the idiocy, though that depends how idiotic your friend is or isn't. Or how idiotic you aren't, for that matter.
Capcom unveils forthcoming games at 'Digital Day 2008'
Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Windows PC, Xbox 360
Last week, both the press and select members of the gaming community were invited to Capcom's US headquarters in San Mateo, California for a hands-on sneak peak at a fistful of forthcoming games. Chris Hudak was there and managed to stay both alert and sober (the latter only because the event was uncharacteristically dry).
Turok
PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Consistently stunning, visually, as you'd expect from any old new-generation shooter, Turok is only sporadically fun, and you've played it before under some other no-neck name, and probably with an original sense of purpose.
Down Lo on the Downloads: Shop-Store-Market 03/08
PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360
In February, as if knowing that you had little better to do, Xbox Live Arcade rocked with the downloadable games. Wii did too. PlayStation Store, not so much. Chad Sapieha runs 'em down.
Dynasty Warriors 6
PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Meet the new Dynasty Warriors game, same as the old Dynasty Warriors game, which was the same as the four (or more) other old Dynasty Warriors games before that, which makes Dynasty Warriors games, well, a dynasty. Not so much a memorable dynasty though, because, by now, they're all just one glorious hacking smear of vague memorableness.
