As intimated by earlier previews, Heroes of Annihilated Empires was supposed to be a wicked cool mix of fantasy-meet-tech real-time strategic melee combat role-playing Nirvana. Oddly, now that it's here, said early previews appear to have been nothing more than psyche & hype, and you're expected to wait for a sequel or two before you get to the good stuff. Problem there, of course, is that a game needs to be good to begin with in order to warrant a sequel or two. Guess what?
